“Universes Within” Featurette: Go Inside the “Trippy” World of ‘Doctor Strange’

In celebration of the global IMAX 3D sneak peek of Marvel’s Doctor Strange, Disney released a special featurette for the upcoming superhero film, titled “Universes Within”. Inside the footage, the filmmakers and producers take audiences into the visual technics used to bring the 1960s comic to life.

Working with the comic’s psychedelic and magical aspects, the footage seen in the featurette promises for a unique experience unlike any other Marvel film before. The character of Doctor Strange is surely not the typical machismo hero and will likely bring a brand new tone to Marvel’s tentpole.

Doctor Strange will tell the origin story of the magical neurosurgeon and his recovery from a life threatening car accident that took away the control of his hands. In an effort to find a cure to his ailment, he finds The Ancient One who teaches him the ways of ancient magic, and sends him on the path to being an inter-dimensional hero.

Doctor Strange stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Tilda Swinton, Rachel McAdams, and Mads Mikkelson. Scott Derrickson directed the picture which hits theaters on November 4. Check out “Universes Within” below.
