Batman: Hush has just come out and already DC is unveiling their plans for two more animated movies in the near future, both focusing on the Man of Steel himself: Superman.
The first movie of these two movies is Superman: Red Son, an adaptation of the comic book miniseries of the same name. Written by Mark Millar, the Superman: Red Son miniseries followed a ‘what if’ scenario about what would happen if baby Kal-El’s rocket ship landed on a farm in 1950’s Russia rather than Smallville, Kansas. This Superman eventually grows up to become the champion of the Soviet Union and its ideals. Alternative versions of other super heroes and villains exist in this reality too, and they end up clashing with the Soviet Superman.
The second Superman movie announced will be called Superman: Man of Tomorrow. Not much is known about this movie except that it’s not an adaptation of any particular comic book story. Instead, Superman: Man of Tomorrow is going to have a completely original plot, but, unlike Superman: Red Son, won’t feature a wild take on the character. This movie will follow a young Clark Kent just as he’s starting his career as Superman.
Both movies are set to come out in 2020. Currently there is very little information about Superman: Man of Tomorrow, but a cast list for Superman: Red Son has already been revealed. However, the actors set to voice is still unknown.
