Try Not to Jump While Watching the Trailer for ‘Bastard’

Seriously, the violence comes quick, loud, and unexpected, even for a horror movie trailer. Bastard‘s teaser features people screaming, hooks piercing skin, blunt objects splitting skulls, and spines being ripped out, yet it has nothing to do with the newest Mortal Kombat game; how strange.

BASTARD follows newlywed, hitch-hiking serial killers, a brother and sister on the run, and a trigger-happy suicidal cop as they get caught in an increasingly bizarre series of murders committed by a masked killer near a mountain-town bed and breakfast.

The indie horror film was written by Patrick Robert Young, co-directed by Young and Powell Robinson (marking their mutual directorial debuts),  and produced by their company, Big Bad Film. The cast includes Rebekah Kennedy (Creature), Micah Fitzgerald (Defeated), and Tonya Kay (Death Factory).

Though Bastard doesn’t have a wide release date any more specific than COMING SOON, it’s already gained some positive press, with Horror Society calling it “a solid and intriguing horror film that deserves to be seen.”
