Focus Features has released the trailer for the upcoming period drama, A Little Chaos starring Kate Winslet (Little Children), Alan Rickman (Die Hard), Stanley Tucci (The Hunger Games) and Matthias Schoenaerts (The Drop). The film is set during the time of the French Aristocracy and centers on a Sabine De Barra (Kate Winslet), a gardener who is given the honor of designing the gardens at Versaillers with Andre Le Notre (Mathias Schenaerts). The two eventually form a romantic bond despite his class-obsessed wife (Jennifer Ehle).
The film was recently picked up by Focus Features, and is directed by Rickman who also plays King Louis XIV. Winslet and Rickman played romantic interests in the 1995’s adaptation Sense and Sensibility. Rickman’s only other previous directing was the 1997 drama The Winter Guest, which starred another one of his Sensibility co-stars, Emma Thompson.
The trailer shows off the impressive cast as well as the elaborate costumes and set design.
