A24 released the first trailer for John Crowley’s We Live in Time earlier today. The trailer stars Andrew Garfield and Florence Pugh in this upcoming romantic drama, which will have a limited release in theatres starting Oct. 11.
Pugh and Garfield star as Almut and Tobias, a couple who meet during an unexpected, yet humorous encounter involving a car, a pedestrian, and a hospital room. The movie follows the two characters as they fall in love, start a family, and face some of life’s hardest challenges. The film will center around time, as marked in it’s title, and how its restrictions encourage one to cherish every moment.
We Live in Time is the newest addition to Crowley’s already established catalog, one that includes Brooklyn (2015), The Goldfinch (2019), the episode Beyond the Sea (2023) from the hit series Black Mirror, and many others. Crowley has won two BAFTA’s in his time in the industry. Nick Payne wrote the screenplay while StudioCanal developed the project. SunnyMarch’s Leah Clarke and Adam Ackland, Guy Heeley, and Benedict Cumberbatch are also producers for the film.
We Live in Time will hold its world premiere at the Toronto Film Festival in September of this year.
