Trailer for New James Bond Film ‘No Time To Die’ Reveals New Villains

The first trailer to the long-awaited James Bond film, No Time To Die, has finally hit the internet, and with it revealing the super spy’s new enemies and mission. The 25th film in the franchise and fifth (and reportedly last) starring Daniel Craig, No Time To Die is directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga, known for the first season of HBO’s True Detective and co-written by Emmy Award winner Phoebe Waller-Bridge of Fleabag fame.

Picking up sometime after 2015’s Spectre, Bond has now retired and finds himself enjoying a tranquil existence in Jamaica with his partner Madeleine Swann (Léa Seydoux). However, when CIA friend Felix Leiter (Jefferey Wright) reaches out needing assistance, 007 signs on for one last mission. The trailer features a peek at new villain Safin, played by Mr. Robot‘s Rami Malek, who poses a serious threat for Bond. Christoph Waltz returns as additional antagonist Ernst Stavro Blofeld, who audiences last saw in Spectre. Also returning is Ralph Fiennes as M, Ben Whishaw as Q, Naomie Harris as Eve Moneypenny, and a new addition in Craig’s Knives Out co-star Ana de Armas.

Because Waller-Bridge is only the second female writer in the history of Bond films, No Time To Die has garnered much hype from fans. Co-writing with Fukunaga, the Fleabag creator has described her involvement as “practical” in an interview with BBC, stating she enjoyed adding “little spices” to the film’s dialogue.

James Bond: No Time To Die is set for release on April 8, 2020.
