Trailer for ‘Beast’

If you like your love stories with a healthy side of serial killer intrigue, then do I have a movie for you. Beast, starring Jessie Buckley and Johnny Flynn, marks the feature-length directorial debut for Michael Pearce.

The movie follows Moll (Buckley), a 27 year-old woman who still resides with her family upon a little, isolated island. Soon, she becomes entangled with a mysterious man named Pascal (Flynn). She’s besotted, decides to leave her family to be with him, and lives happily ever after. Or she might, if Pascal weren’t possibly a serial killer. Twists, turns, and slow-burn suspense follow.

Both leads are getting rave reviews for their performances, and director Pearce is also receiving praise for his work as writer and director. There are reportedly numerous surprises in the screenplay, so don’t be shocked if Pascal is a ghost, Moll is the real killer, and the island town is actually inside a miniature snow globe.

Beast will arrive in select theaters on May 11th.

I enjoy watching movies and TV shows, playing video games, singing badly to pop songs in the car, eating delicious food, and drinking fine alcoholic beverages. I play basketball when my crippling knee and back pain allows, and I try to hit the gym on a regular basis.
