Tom Cruise Lays Out Plans For ‘Barbie’ and ‘Oppenheimer’ Opening Weekend

The advent of Barbie and Oppenheimer opening alongside each other is probably the most talked-about movie event of the year. Barbie is based off the doll toy line from Mattel, while Oppenheimer is about the man who created the atomic bomb that went on to end World War II: both come out on July 21st. Some have even gone on to call the event Barbenheimer. Most are planning on seeing both films on their debuting weekend, with  Tom Cruise being among them, Deadline reports.

“I want to see both Barbie and Oppenheimer. I’ll see them opening weekend,” he told The Sydney Morning Herald. “Friday I’ll see Oppenheimer first and then Barbie on Saturday.” Cruise has always been one of the biggest advocates for seeing movie on the big screen. Just last year, he managed to pull many back into cinemas with Top Gun: Maverickand will bring even more back next weekend with Mission Impossible-Dead Reckoning Part One

Cruise also took to Twitter to congratulate Harrison Ford, who recently made comeback as prominent archeologist Indiana Jones in Indiana Jones And The Dial Of Destiny. “Congratulations, Harrison Ford, on 40 years of Indy and one of the most iconic characters in history.”

Tom Cruise can be seen in Mission Impossible-Dead Reckoning Part One on July 12th, while Barbie and Oppenheimer release on July 21st.
