Variety has learned that Netflix’s latest action-adventure Havoc has added a few more cast members to the film.
Joining previously announced stars Tom Hardy (Venom) and Forest Whitaker (Black Panther) will be Timothy Olyphant (The Umbrella Academy), Justin Cornwell (Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey), Jessie Mei Li (Shadow and Bone), and Malaysian actress Yann Yann Yeo (Ilo Ilo).
The action-adventure is set after a botched drug transaction, and follows a wounded detective as he fights his way through a criminal underworld to save a politician’s estranged son, while unraveling a vast web of corruption and conspiracy that engulfs his whole city.
The director behind kinetic action films The Raid: Redemption and The Raid II, Gareth Evans, will write and direct Havoc as part of the recent deal between Evans and Netflix to solely produce and direct films over the next several years. Havoc is set to be the first film under the new partnership.
Rounding out the cast include up and coming actor Quelin Sepulveda, Luis Guzmán (Magnolia), Sunny Pang (Headshot), and UFC mixed martial artist Michelle Waterson.
Olyphant is expected to star in David O. Russell’s untitled drama with an a-list cast including Margot Robbie, Zoe Saldana, Robert De Niro, Christian Bale, Anya Taylor-Joy, and many more.
Cornwell’s next film is the upcoming Edgar Wright horror film Last Night in Soho. Mei Li currently stars in the Netflix hit show Shadow and Bone and is also set to star alongside Cornwell in the upcoming Edgar Wright horror film Last Night in Soho.
Yeo can be seen in the 2020 HBO series Invisible Stories, in which she earned an Emmy nomination.
