Tim Burton Shuts Down Talk Of ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas’ Sequel

The Nightmare Before Christmas will definitely not be getting sequel. The director of the beloved stop-motion film, Tim Burton said about the possibility of a sequel, “I’ve done sequels, I’ve done other things, I’ve done reboots, I’ve done all that shit, right? I don’t want that to happen to this. It’s nice that people are maybe interested [in another one], but I’m not. I feel like that old guy who owns a little piece of property and won’t sell to the big power plant that wants to take my land.”

Burton continued his statement by mimicking the ‘old guy’ he mentioned above saying, “Get off my land! You pesky little… You ain’t getting this property! I don’t care what you want to build on it. You come on my property…Where’s my shotgun?”

The original movie was directed by Henry Selick and was based on a story by Tim Burton and Michael McDowell. Burton, who is known for his gothic horror films and exaggerated visuals and colors, has directed a number of successful films, including Corpse Bride (2005), Beetlejuice (1988), and Batman (1989).

Fans of Burton’s offbeat horror will have to look elsewhere, as according to Burton, Jack Skellington’s, the main character in the film, story has come to an end.
