‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ On Its Way To $300M Worldwide Opening

Thor: Love and Thunder has been released in a total of 47 international box office box office and has grossed $79.4 million domestically through Friday, and coupled with the global gross, has hit $149 million. The superhero sequel is likely to surpass the global $150 million prediction and is well on its way for a $300 million worldwide debut.

As of now, Thor 4‘s first three days are expected to be 62% ahead of Top Gun: Maverick, 50% ahead of Jurassic World Dominion, 40% ahead of Thor: Ragnarok and 36% below Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness.

New Friday openers included Japan and Spain. Japan’s $1.5 million launch was the 3rd best launch for an MCU title during the pandemic era and the $1.3 million launch in Spain was the 4th highest pandemic opening in the country.

Australia leads the international crowd with $7.9 million through Friday followed by the UK ($7.5M), Korea ($6.9M), Mexico ($5.7M) and India ($4.8M).

Minions follows in second with $14.4M and Top Gun: Maverick stays strong in third with $4.5M. Elvis and Jurassic World round out the top five with $3.3M and $2.3M repsectively.
