The newest Marvel film Thor: Love and Thunder is scheduled to premiere on July 6. And as per usual, movie buffs have some predictions as to how the film is going to do in the box office.
The fourth Thor installment is anticipated to bring in anywhere from $145 million to $155 million dollars domestically in its opening weekend. A similar number is projected for the film on the international chart. This may seem cocky to some, but one must remember this is a Marvel film, and even if the Thor franchise wasn’t already critically acclaimed the studio name would be enough to give it a jump start.
If projections are correct, then Love and Thunder will be one of the biggest opening weekends of 2022 – pulling it above blockbusters like The Batman, Jurassic World: Dominion, and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. In fact, it will even make the film more successful than the most recent Asgardian film Thor: Ragnarok. Ragnarok had an opening weekend of $123 million back in 2017, then went on to celebrate $315 million domestically and $853 million worldwide.
Thor: Love and Thunder will be in theaters this Friday, July 8th.
