After lacing up boxing gloves in the highly successful Creed, Michael B. Jordan will be donning mischievious business gloves in the latest remake of MGM’s heist thriller The Thomas Crown Affair. Although there is no report of a director or writer attached to the project, the addition of the young rising actor is sure to attract stellar talent.
This will be the second time the 1968 original is remade. Steven McQueen originally played the lead of the scheming businessman looking to make a huge score. Faye Dunaway starred opposite as the insurance investigator with the job to uncover the crime. Pierce Brosnan (Die Another Day) and Rene Russo (Nightcrawler) took on the two main roles in the 1999 version of the film.
Jordan last teamed up with his Fruitvale Station director Ryan Coogler in Creed this past fall, the latest addition to the Rocky series made famous by Sylvester Stallone. It was both critically and financially a hit, solidifying Jordan as an up-and-coming star. The next Thomas Crown Affair is aiming for a November release in 2017.
