Love is not in the air; it’s in the villa. Tom Hopper and Kat Graham are on board to star in the Netflix rom-com Love in the Villa with Mark Steven Johnson to write and direct.
Johnson has directed rom-coms such as When In Rome starring Kristen Bell and Josh Duhamel and Love, Guaranteed starring Rachael Leigh Cook, and Damon Wayans Jr.
After a breakup, a young woman travels to romantic Verona, Italy, only to discover that the villa she reserved has been double-booked, and she will have to spend her holiday with a cynical and extremely good-looking (obviously) British man.
“Now, more than ever, people need some love and laughter in their lives. Everyone seems so divided these days. But in the end everyone wants the same thing — to love and to be loved,” Johnson said. “That’s what movies like Love in the Villa are about.”
Hopper has just wrapped filming season 3 of the Netflix series The Umbrella Academy. Hopper can be seen most recently in The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard, which stars Ryan Reynolds, Salma Hayek, and Samuel L. Jackson.
Graham is set to star next in the romance thriller Forget to Remember and Sci-Fi film Sunflower.
Production is expected to begin this month in Verona and will hit the streaming service globally in 2022.
