The Three Documentaries To Participate In The Inaugural Diane Weyermann Fellowship

The Camden International Film Festival’s 19th edition in Maine started with three documentaries, all selected to be in the Diane Weyermann fellowship program. These include The Last Nomads, directed by Biljana Tutorov and Petar Glomazić, The Production of the World, directed by Brett Story, and Untitled Project, directed and produced by Shirley Abraham and Amit Madheshiya.

These documentaries will receive $100,000 with a year and a half of support from CIFF’s Points North Institute. This fellowship was created in honor of Diane Weyermann, the chief content officer of Participant Media and the former director of the Sundance Institute’s documentary program. Weyerman passed away in late 2021 from cancer.

This program will give these documentary teams mentorships from filmmakers and those high up in the industry, including two creative retreats during the Camden International Film Festival this year and next year. Variety states that, “the program is designed to support the completion of fellows’ films and the advancement of both directors’ and producers’ careers.”

Each documentary’s directors and producers will be listed below.
