Russell Brand Postpones Last Leg Of Comedy Tour Amidst Sexual Harassment Allegations

Russell Brand, who is currently taking part in his own comedy tour, has postponed the remaining dates for his shows. The postponements come amidst a string of allegations regarding sexual assault, following an investigation from multiple British news organizations.

One of the venues set to host Brand along the tour, which is dubbed his “Bipolarism,” Theater Royal Windsor, published a statement on Monday. The statement said that the remaining dates would not go ahead. “We don’t like doing it,” it said, as The NY Times reports, “but we know you’ll understand.”

As stated, three separate British news organizations published an investigation. The investigation included that four women accused him of alleged sexual assault, which also includes one accusation of alleged rape.

Brand himself took to commenting on the allegations and investigations, denying them in a video posted to his own YouTube channel.

“Amidst this litany of astonishing, rather baroque attacks are some very serious allegations that I absolutely refute.”

Since the publication of the joint investigation, several organizations affiliated with Brand have distanced themselves from the comedian. It goes so far as publication company Bluebird, had put its work with the actor/comedian on hold, according to The Bookseller. They were set to publish Recovery: The Workbook

There is also a new allegation coming to light, hailing from London’s police force. In a statement issued on Monday, they said they had “received a report of a sexual assault which was alleged to have taken place in Soho in central London in 2003.” The custom for British police forces is to never reveal the identity of a single subject giving the complaint, yet came in response to the inquiries revolving around Brand. Brand was set to appear in a broadcast on Rumble, but did not appear, and has not since commented on the new allegations.
