The latest trailer for Terminator Genisys from director Alan Taylor (Thor: The Dark World) is loaded with action, characters, and plot twists. Apparently not subscribing to the old adage that “less is more,” Paramount’s newest trailer for the film divulges a lot more of the narrative than previous trailers, while also revealing what is sure to be a central plot element.
Fans will still see a lot of familiar plot points that were teased in the first few trailers, including the reveal of an alternate reality where Kyle Reese (Jai Courtney) is sent back to save Sarah Conner (Emilia Clarke), only to find she’s already been rescued from T-800 Terminator (Arnold Scwharzenegger). They’ll also note the expected revelation of the bad, younger T-800 model (digitally resembling a young Scwharzenegger). But this time, the preview exposes perhaps another side to Sarah Conner’s son, John Conner (Jason Clarke), that audiences weren’t expecting.
