With James Gunn’s iteration of Superman debuting on July 11 of this year, DC Studios co-chief Peter Safran has given a recent update on Matt Reeve’s The Batman saga and the upcoming reboot of the DCU. The latest word is The Batman starring Robert Pattinson will be made into a trilogy, which is the same as Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight Trilogy, and the new DCU will include a seperate Batman who will be introduced in an upcoming picture titled, The Brave and The Bold.
When discussing the rumor and hope of how Pattinson will make an appearance in the upcoming DCU, Safran rebuked this rumor by stating,
“It’s certainly not the plan. It’s certainly not. And we love him. But we’ve got to introduce Batman to the DCU. It’s imperative. And so that’s the plan with The Brave and The Bold.”
Andy Muschietti who garnered acclaim with his directed adaptation of It in 2017, is set to direct the upcoming The Brave and The Bold. The details of the movie will include a late Batman introducing his son and latest Robin, Damien Wayne. This fresh new take will introduce a father/son dynamic to the crime fighting duo for general audiences.
As The Batman Part II‘s plot is still kept under wraps, star Robert Pattinson has recently claimed that he knows the upcoming plot and sounds excited to star in it. The Batman Part II is still set to release on October 1, 2027 after many delays. Safran has claimed that his Batman picture, The Brave and The Bold, will also be released in 2027, but time will tell which one audiences get to experience first.
