‘The LEGO Movie’ Sequel Has Named Its New Director

The LEGO Movie’s anticipated sequel has officially snagged its new director, TV comedy veteran Rob Schrab. The animated blockbuster’s original directors, Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, remain signed on to the project as writers and producers.

Schrab is no stranger to comedy, best known for his writing on The Sarah Silverman Program as well as his directorial work on television hits like Parks and Recreation, The Mindy Project, and Community. Although this sequel to The LEGO Movie will be Schrab’s debut as a film director, Lord and Miller seem to have the utmost confidence in his comedic skills, saying:

He is a comedy genius, a visual savant, and we have been stalking him for years. No one works harder than Rob, and his aesthetic, combined with his sense of humor, bring a strong, unique, thoughtful, and passionately nerdy voice to this project.
