The Highly Anticipated Live-Action ‘Tangled’ Completes A Big Milestone

The story of Rapunzel has been around for many decades, connecting back to the Rapunzel story based on the Brothers Grimm tale. There have been many tellings of the classic story over a variety of generations, which has led to Disney, along with many other studios, creating their own retelling of the tale. Disney released an earlier version of the classic tale back in 2010, which became a worldwide success. Now, Disney is once again following their roots of retelling stories, this time, a live-action remake.

Filming on this live-action story has been going on for many months, and Disney is slowly hitting a major milestone, officially wrapping up production. Two characters, portrayed by twin brothers Hugo and Patrick McPherson, have taken to Instagram to show photos celebrating this milestone. This post brings hope that many other cast members will make wrapping announcements soon. The McPherson brothers portray two thieves who are secondary antagonists, originally working alongside Flynn Rider, and they eventually plot with the evil Mother Gothel to put a stop to Flynn and Rapunzel.

The live-action remake features a wide range of cast members alongside the McPherson brothers including Teagan Croft as Rapunzel, Milo Manheim as Flynn Rider, Kathryn Hahn as Mother Gothel, and even introduces Diego Luna as a newly introduced character created specifically for this film. It is directed by Michael Gracey, and the screenplay was adapted by Michael Montemayor and Jennifer Kaytin Robinson. Filming has been taking place in small towns in Spain, with an area utilized for the location of Rapunzel’s iconic tower.

Fans can expect to see this live-action remake when it is released in theaters on March 31, 2028, and can continue streaming Disney’s original adaptation on Disney+.
