The producers of Spider-Man: No Way Home addressed the question about another trilogy. No Way Home grossed over $50 million from Thursday’s preview that began at 3 p.m, sources claim. It was the third-highest preview result of Hollywood history behind Avengers: Endgame and Star Wars: The Force Awakens, so it’s no surprise another trilogy is already in conversation.
No Way Home, directed by Jon Watts, is the end of Tom Holland’s ‘Spider-Man’ trilogy. Amy Pascal and Kevin Feige have been involved with the franchise in once capacity or another since it began. Pascal was responsible for the first five live-action ‘Spider-Man’ films. Feige took part in early ‘Spider-Man’ in various capacities and served as a producer of the last three during his role as president of Marvel.
The two spoke to Brooke Barnes from the New York Times via video from their Los Angeles home. They discussed the future MCU road map for Spider-Man.
“We’re producers, so we always believe everything will work out. I love working with Kevin. We have a great partnership, along with Tom Rothman, who runs Sony and has been instrumental, a great leader with great ideas. I hope it lasts forever.” Pascal said.
In short, Pascal and Feige are committed to the idea of a future Spider-Man trilogy if the actors are eager to embark on their roles once again and if the partnership with Sony is still active.
“Amy and I and Disney and Sony are talking about — yes, we’re actively beginning to develop where the story heads next, which I only say outright because I don’t want fans to go through any separation trauma like what happened after Far From Home [the previous Spider-Man movie, in 2019]. That will not be occurring this time.” Pascal added.
Spider-Man: No Way Home is playing in theaters everywhere.
