The First Trailer For Chris Pratt’s Time-Traveling Sci-Fi Film ‘The Tomorrow War’ Dropped

The first trailer for Amazon’s upcoming time-traveling sci-fi thriller starring Chris Pratt, The Tomorrow War, was released Wednesday and will be on the streaming service this summer. The film is directed by Chris McKay (The Lego Batman Movie), and the film’s cast includes Edwin Hodge (The Purge), Sam Richardson (Veep), Betty Gilpin (GLOW), Mary Lynn Rajskub (Little Miss Sunshine), Jasmine Mathews (Heathers) and Ryan Kiera Armstrong (The Glorias).

Written by Zach Dean (24 Hours to Live) and it follows Dan Forester (Pratt), a high school teacher who is recruited to fight in a future war by a group of time travelers. When an alien race threatens life on Earth, the only chance for survival is for soldiers and civilians from the present to travel to 2051 and aid in the planet’s protection. Dan joins forces with his estranged father (J.K. Simmons) and a brilliant scientist (Yvonne Strahovski) to rewrite humanity’s destiny.

The Tomorrow War is the first sci-fi film that McKay got to direct, and his debut film into the world of cinema was The Lego Batman Movie that came out in 2017; he is also set to direct the sequel due out next year.
