When animation buffs hear the name of animator Genndy Tartakovsky and the classic cartoon character, Popeye the Sailor Man in the same sentence, they know to pay attention. Tartakovsky has been in the animation industry for over twenty years, and is responsible for creating Dexter’s Laboratory, Samurai Jack, Star Wars: Clone Wars, and directing Hotel Transylvania. In this clip – as the animator himself explains, not a clip from the actual film – Tartakovsky demonstrates how he brings his sense of physical comedy to an upcoming 3D animated Popeye movie.
