Tessa Thompson Expresses Excitement on Christian Bale Casting For ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’

Many are very excited for the potential introduction of former Batman actor Christian Bale into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, this glee also extends to some of the film’s cast members, who have expressed a ton of excitement toward his casting. This includes actress Tessa Thompson who, in a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, confirmed that Bale is officially a part of the fourth Thor installment Love and Thunder.

Thompson stated in the interview that Bale will be playing the film’s villain, though she did not reveal the character’s name. Although she has read the film’s script, she cannot say who Bale is playing, but assured fans that this new film will be fun thanks to Taika Waitit returning to the director’s chair. Thompson did confirm, however, that her character Valkyrie will return as the new ruler of Asgard, stating “If she can’t find her queen, she’ll just be king and queen at the same time.”

Even though Bale’s role has not been confirmed, fans are speculating on who he might be, including Beta Ray Bill and possibly even one of Thor’s other family members. Either way, Waititi felt adamant that fans of Ragnarok will be very excited for Love and Thunder, stating that “we’re trying double down on everything we did with that and create something that is even more crazy and even more of a big adventure!”

Thor: Love and Thunder is set for release on November 5th 2021.

Ryan Pineda: When it comes to film, animation, video games and other mediums, I can discuss for hours about how much on why certain films and animated media made me the person I am today. I adore the artistic merit that comes from a lot of pop-culture media and will definitely love to have a conversation about favorite movies any day! I have graduated in 2017 with a BA in Film and Television at the University of Arizona. Been passionate about writing about films due to always having an interesting outlook on the medium. Will always see a film and will definitely be sure to recommend it to someone that I know for a fact would love that movie. Not only that but will also give reasons for why I think that film did or did not work as a movie, and the same can go for other pieces of media like television, video games and especially animated projects.
