Today, the teaser trailer for M. Night Shyamalan’s (Signs) and Nicholas Sparks’ (The Notebook) Remain was released. The trailer begins with Tate, portrayed by Jake Gyllenhaal (Prisoners), pulling up to a large cottage-style home where he is greeted by Wren, played by Phoebe Dynevor (Bridgerton), through a window. He enters the home and tells her that he has gotten a gift for her, which ends up being a board game. It cuts to clips of them playing the game and laughing, as well as other clips of them spending quality time together.
The montage shifts when Wren asks, “Why can’t we be together, Tate,” to which Tate responds, “I think you know.” Tate is shown walking to a curtain that Wren is behind, and as he slowly walks to it and moves it, she disappears. Another scene plays out of Wren getting ready to bash her head on the bathroom wall in the dark, and Tate turns on the light to stop her. A brief body of text is shown that reads, “Trust the Unknown,” followed by clips of Tate and Wren that contrast the scenes shown earlier in the trailer.
The movie is set to release on Valentine’s Day next year. View the full teaser trailer below.
