Tatiana Maslany and Tom Cullen to Co-Star in Romantic Drama ‘The Other Half’

Orphan Black star Tatiana Maslany and real-life boyfriend Tom Cullen (Weekend) are taking their love affair to the big screen for Joey Klein’s feature directorial debut, The Other Half. The story will follow a bipolar woman (Maslany) and a grief-stricken man (Cullen) who fall in love and attempt to live a stable life together.

Canadian indie producer Motel Pictures will back the project, which begins shooting in July. Suzanne Clement (Mommy), Deragh Campbell (I Used to Be Darker), and Mark Rendall (30 Days of Night) round out the cast of the Canadian indie.

Maslany and Klein, an actor-turned-director, have worked together before: they both appeared in the Nicholas Sparks adaptation The Vow and he subsequently directed her in his short film Waiting For You. Maslany is best known for playing a host of characters in BBC’s lauded clone drama Orphan Black. She is currently appearing with Helen Mirren (The Queen) in the Nazi-art drama Woman in Gold and will star alongside Dane DeHaan (The Place Beyond the Pines) in the upcoming film Two Lovers and a Bear.

Cullen’s most notable credits include Andrew Haigh’s critically-acclaimed LGBT romance Weekend and PBS’s Downton Abbey, in which he plays Lady Mary’s suitor Lord Gillingham. He can now be seen in Desert Dancer alongside Freida Pinto (Slumdog Millionaire). He will also appear in the upcoming films Mine, with Armie Hammer (The Social Network), and A Hundred Streets, with Idris Elba (Thor) and Gemma Arterton (Quantum of Solace).
