SXSW: 2016 Audience Award Winners

The Audience Awards have been announced for the 2016 South By Southwest Film Festival and Greg Kwedar’s feature debut Transpecos led, grabbing the Narrative Feature Competition Audience Award. Kwedar’s border patrol thriller stars Gabriel Luna (Freeheld), Clifton Collins Jr. (Triple 9) and Johnny Simmons (Scott Pilgrim vs. the World). Another notable name on the roster was Demolition, which picked up the Audience Award for the Headliners sidebar of the film festival. Wild‘s Jean-Marc Vallee directed Jake Gyllenhaal (Nightcrawler) in this drama about a man coming apart following the death of his wife; the film made its world premiere at the 2015 Toronto Film Festival and opens in theaters on April 8th.
