Stoic has secured the worldwide sales rights for Moses the Black, starring Omar Epps, Wiz Khalifa, Quavo, and Chukwudi Iwuji. The film will makes its way to Los Angeles for the American Film Market next month where Stoic is expected to unveil an exclusive first-look. Directed and written by Yelena Popovic (Man of God), the story follows Malik (Epps), a gangster in modern-day Chicago, who finds inspiration in the spiritual transformation of a fifth-century saint, Moses the Black.
Grammy-nominated rapper Wiz Khalifa executive-produces through Taylor Gang Films. He stars as 2wo-3ree, a young member of Malik’s crew. Quavo of the Grammy-nominated hip hop group Migos, plays Malik’s rival, while Iwuji takes on the role of St. Moses the Black.
As Deadline reports, Stoic’s Nat McCormick said:
“We’re thrilled to present this powerful, star-driven film that unites acclaimed actors and global music stars in a story that will resonate with audiences worldwide. Its emotional depth and dynamic soundtrack make Moses the Black a truly standout title for the market.”
Alexandros Potter and Popovic produce with Epps producing through his BrooklynWorks Films. Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson is serving as an executive producer through his G-Unit Film and Television.
