The list of ensemble films in Steven Soderbergh’s filmography is getting little bit longer with his new HBO Max & Warner Bros. Crime Thriller, No Sudden Move (formerly known as Kill Switch). The cast includes Don Cheadle, Benicio Del Toro, David Harbour, Amy Seimetz, Jon Hamm, Ray Liotta, Kieran Culkin, Brendan Fraser, Noah Jupe, Julia Fox, Bill Duke and Frankie Shaw.
The film takes place in 1955 Detroit and focuses on a group of small-time criminals who are hired to steal was they believe is a simple document. When their plan unexpectedly goes wrong, they must work together to uncover what’s really going on.
“The last time I shot a movie in Detroit with a great script and a great cast things worked out really well,” Soderbergh Said. “I’m very excited behind my mask right now.”
No Sudden Move is written by Ed Solomon, best known for writing the original Men in Black and Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure. The new film will be the third collaboration between Soderbergh and Solomon, who previously worked together on Bill & Ted Face the Music and the HBO limited series and interactive app Mosaic.

No Sudden Move is currently shooting on-location under strict Covid-19 safety protocols and has no planned release date.
Soderbergh has another film at HBO Max, Let Them All Talk, which stars Meryl Streep, Candice Bergen, Lucas Hedges, Dianne Wiest, and Gemma Chan. The film focuses on a celebrated author who goes on a trip with old friends to have fun and heal old wounds. The drama is expected to be released on the streaming platform sometime this year.
