Indiewire.com is reporting that Steve McQueen‘s newest movie, Widows, just had its trailer shown at CinemaCon. Author Gillian Flynn, who is known for her work on the book Sharp Objects and her novel Gone Girl as well as its subsequent screenplay, has partnered with writer-director McQueen to tell this story.
The film contains an amazing female-led cast, featuring Michelle Rodriguez, Viola Davis, Cynthia Erivo, and Elizabeth Debicki in lead roles. Widows has a pretty explanatory title, as the titular widows (played by a stellar array of actresses) have decided that they don’t want their thief husbands to have died in vain. Therefore, they decide to complete the mission their husbands began. The film will also feature Daniel Kaluuya, Robert Duvall, and Colin Farrell.
Movie company 20th Century Fox will possess the distribution rights. They expect to bring the film to cinemas starting on November 16th.
