M. Night Shyamalan has been hard at work making the sequel to both 2000’s Unbreakable and 2016’s Split titled Glass, and he has added two of the original actors to the sequel. Spencer Treat Clark (Mystic River, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D) and Charlayne Woddard (ER, Law and Order: SVU) will return as Joseph Dunn and Elijah Glass’s mother respectively, according to Empire.
Glass will pick up where Split ended, with David Dunn, played by Bruce Willis (Die Hard, Moonrise Kingdom), using his powers in an attempt to find and capture Kevin Wendell Crumb, played by James McAvoy (X-Men: First Class and X-Men: Days of Future Past), who has multiple personalities including one called the Beast, a dangerous and powerful being with almost no sense of feeling. The mastermind behind everything is Elijah Price, played by Samuel L. Jackson (Kong: Skull Island, Kingsman: the Secret Service), who was revealed to be Mr. Glass, the main antagonist of Unbreakable. Other new and returning actresses include Anya Taylor-Joy (The Witch, Morgan), who played Casey Cooke, the only survivor of the Beast, and Sarah Paulson (American Horror Story, Carol), whose role is currently unknown.
Shyamalan is both writing and directing the film, and has slated it for a January 18, 2019 release.
