Sophie Turner’s Jean Grey Wreaks Havoc in First ‘Dark Phoenix’ Trailer

The very first trailer for the X-Men film Dark Phoenix has finally dropped. It looks to be a re-hashing of 2006’s X-Men: The Last Stand, but with new faces and perhaps further character development. In this film, audiences will see mutant Jean Grey (Sophie Turner), known for her powerful telekinetic abilities, bring the world to a near apocalypse, that is, unless her fellow X-Men can succeed in saving her from herself.

There to help in the fight for their friend are the various mutants played by James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Tye Sheridan, Nicholas Hoult, Evan Peters, Kodi Smit-McPhee, and others, including newcomer Jessica Chastain as the film’s villain. Simon Kinberg wrote and directed the film.

In the trailer, we see Jean go from being an orphaned young girl at the doorstep of Charles Xavier, to a conflicted young woman seeking out the help of Magneto when Professor X proves unable to calm the war within her.

Dark Phoenix will be released on Feb. 14, 2019. Watch the trailer below.
