Sony is pushing back the release date for various titles such as Ghostbusters: Afterlife, Cinderella featuring former Fifth Harmony member Camila Cabello, Uncharted with Tom Holland and Morbius starring Jared Leto. Originally Cinderella was set to be released on February 5 but will now be hitting the theaters on July 16. This delayed caused video game adaptation Uncharted, it was set to be released mid-July and has now been pushed to Feb. 11, 2022.
Along with these, Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway has been moved back to June 11 and Ghostbusters: Afterlife has been delayed to November 11.
This shift in delays came minutes after MGM delayed the latest James Bond, No Time to Die, by seven months to October 8. No Time to Die was set to be released along with Sony’s Morbius, has officially been moved to Jan. 21, 2022. Earlier this month, the studio had moved the comic book thriller from March to October.
Many did not even expected Cinderella to still hit the theater because of the lack of advertisement the studio has released for the Kay Cannon directed film. With the fairy tale adaptation being delayed, Disney and 20th Century’s The King’s Man, being released on March 12, will be the only major title without a delay in 2021.
Although some films will be released at a later date, big studio company will still be releasing movies in the upcoming months.
