While the highly talked about Zack Snyder cut of Justice League is officially becoming a thing on HBO Max, there is still a bit of work to be done to bring Snyder’s initial vision of the film to be on screen. While there are some effect works that need to be done, Warner Bros also have plans for Snyder to shoot some additional footage for the upcoming director’s cut. The new reshoots for the film added to the film’s budget as now, Justice League: Director’s Cut, is now reportedly to have a budget of $70 million dollars.
The film was initially expected to have a $25 million dollar budget, only for it to double with all of the plans Zack Snyder and his team has in store. The reshoots are expected to have Gal Gadot, Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill and Ray Fischer, reprising their roles which is most likely the reason why the reshoots are so expensive for the upcoming film. Snyder stated the reshoots are expected to happen within the next month for a week. No reports of the film’s other actors like Jason Mamoa or Ezra Miller returning for any upcoming reshoot however.
While it is rather pricey for a reshoot, this is obviously there to help bring Zack Snyder’s original version of Justice League to life. Snyder stated that he will not be using any shot from Joss Whedon’s original theatrical cut of the film, to help bring the authenticity to the film many fans were expecting from 2017. Hopefully the extra money spent for the film will be worth it for many who have been campaigning for the film to be released
Justice League: Director’s Cut is expected to air on HBO Max sometime in 2021
