WWE Studios and Blumhouse have released a new sneak peek of their upcoming superhero drama, Sleight.

From director J.D. Dillard and Get Out producer Jason Blum, the film premiered at last year’s Sundance Film Festival to positive reviews, where WWE and Blumhouse purchased the theatrical distribution rights for a nationwide 2017 release.

The film’s synopsis reads: “After his mother’s death, a young street magician turns to dealing drugs at parties to support his little sister. When she is kidnapped by his supplier, he uses his sleight of hand and keen intelligence to find her.”

Director J.D.Dillard has recently been courted by 20th Century Fox to direct their upcoming remake of the body-horror classic, The Fly.

Sleight stars Jacob Latimore (Collateral Beauty), Seychelle Gabriel (The Legend of Korra), SNL cast member Sasheer Zamata, and Dulé Hill.

The film is set for an April 28th release.

Austin Allison: Born and raised in Tucson, AZ, I have been obsessed with cartoons, animation, and film in general for as long as I've known how to talk and draw. From Disney animation to indie movies, filmmaking was always the purest form of art to me. I majored in Film and Television Studies and minored in Studio Art at the University of Arizona. The greatest aspect of studying film was developing a creative and critical eye for a medium that I had loved for so long, but couldn't explain why I loved it until now.
