Shailene Woodley Joins Jack Whitehall in Comedy ‘Robots’

Shailene Woodley has her next project in the works, and it’s different from other films she has worked on. Woodley is set to star with Jack Whitehall (Bad Education) in the comedy Robots from Anthony Hines, one of the writers behind Borat and Bruno, with Hines, also co-directing the film with Casper Christensen (Klown).

According to Deadline, the comedy Robots is based on a short story by sci-fi writer Robert Sheckley which focuses on a womanizer and a gold digger who learns compassion when compelled to team up and pursue robot counterparts of themselves who had fallen in love and fled together.

“At a time when comedies are needed more than ever, I couldn’t be more delighted than to have Shailene and Jack team up to play the leads in this movie,” Hines said.

Woodley recently wrapped filming on the indie film Misanthrope, in which she served as a producer. She also stars in the upcoming Netflix feature The Last Letter from Your Lover that she produced as well.

Woodley is also set to star in the drama The Fence opposite Miles Teller (whom she’s worked with multiple times) that follows a liberal newlywed couple at odds with their ultra-conservative neighbor.

Production should begin in New Mexico this August.

I did attend Long Beach City College for a couple of years, I then transferred to CSULB in 2019. I want to write something outside the normal, something no one would think to write about in a unique way. It also shows how far I am willing to go to produce something amazing that will get more readers interested in the world of Journalism. I am on my way to making a professional life for myself.
