Following the events of CinemaCon, the organization is re-evaluating its security measures when an unidentified woman delivered an envelope to Olivia Wilde on stage. The envelope contains custody papers from Wilde’s former partner Jason Sudeikis.
Wilde was on stage Tuesday discussing her upcoming film Don’t Worry Darling from Warner Bros. when a woman went up to the stage, envelope in hand, interrupting the director’s discussion. While Wilde and studio representatives have not responded to questions regarding the incident, her initial reaction was one of confusion.

“This is for me?” Wilde asked the woman before picking up and opening the “Personal and Confidential” envelope.
This launched an investigation into the security of the weekend event as many officials were unsure of how the woman got into the presentation center. Sudeikis notes he was unaware of the delivery occurring at this event.
“Papers were drawn up to establish jurisdiction relating to the children of Ms. Wilde and Mr. Sudeikis,” a source of The Hollywood Reporter notes. “Mr. Sudeikis had no prior knowledge of the time or place that the envelope would have been delivered, as this would solely be up to the process service company involved, and he would never condone her being served in such an inappropriate manner.”
Officials at CinemaCon have also condemned the delivery method and timing of the envelope.
“To protect the integrity of our studio partners and the talent, we will re-evaluate our security protocols,” Mitch Neuhauser, managing director of the National Association of Theatre Owners and head of CinemaCon. Neuhauser emphasized an incident like this has never occurred before.
