Second ‘Captain America: Civil War’ Trailer Debuts With A Special First Look

Over the past few days there’s been a influx of news, rumors, and footage released for the upcoming Captain America 3. But today, big reveal has been shown. This second trailer gives us a big look into the heated battle that puts Iron Man (Robert Downey, Jr.) up against Captain America (Chris Evans), including a massive amount of supporting members of each team. Fans will need to decide which side to join come this May.

Along with showing footage of the debut of Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman) and his dealings with the Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan), there’s Ant-Man (Paul Rudd) in action, Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) and her dilemma of going up against Cap, and much more. But the one that so many have been waiting for was the first look at one of the other newcomers: Spider-Man (Tom Holland).  Although its just small peak, it’s enough to keep fans happy for the time being. By his look and voice, the character is definitely a young, possibly teenage hero, which is a good sign that Marvel is sticking to the original comic book version. He’s on team Iron Man, but what is role is exactly remains unclear.

The trailer continues the dark tone of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, as well as hinting more at the aftershock of superheroes’ actions and how the world decides to handle it. This will be the first film of Marvel that has Avengers fighting Avengers, but it has been made quite clear that this will be no Avengers 2.5, which some fans have been concerned about. The Russo Brothers are again helming this project as the did the second in the series, and they will have an even bigger impact in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the coming years because they have been attached to direct both parts of Avengers: Infinity War, which will be an epic standoff that has already been said to feature at least 65 Marvel characters. And Civil War‘s structure almost seems to be a precursor to how those films will play out.
