‘Saving Private Ryan’ Returns to Theaters in honor D-Day’s 75th Anniversary!

On June 6, 1944, the Western Allies landed on the shores of Normandy and engaged in battle with Nazi Germany that eventually led to the Allied victory of the Western Front. In honor of the men who fought, died and succeeded, Fathom Events has announced that Saving Private Ryan will return to theaters on June 2 and 5. Steven Spielberg‘s harrowing and brutally realistic portrayal of war opens with the D-Day landings in a twenty minute segment that is as spectacular as a achievement in filmmaking as it is unforgettable.

Winner of Five Academy Awards which included Best Director, Best Cinematography, Best Film Editing, Best Sound and Best Sounds Effects Editing. Sadly and controversially, Saving Private Ryan lost to Shakespeare in Love for Best Picture of 1998. With a stellar cast, a well-written script and more than just a war movie, Saving Private Ryan is a film about ideas instead of showing a love and admiration for war.

Tickets are on sale now so don’t miss your chance to catch this breathtaking and emotionally riveting film. Whether you’ve seen it before or this will be your first time, Saving Private Ryan is an experience that will affect you. You can check out our anniversary piece of the film here.

Rick Rice: A kid at heart who has loved watching movies from a very young age. Credit must be given to Siskel and Ebert whose film reviews educated me on the world of film inspired me to become a writer myself. I love to read books that range from various topics, copious amounts of research is something that excites me and of course sitting in a movie theater is a highlight of my life. When I'm not watching movies or reading I enjoy listening to foreign music and working hard on finishing my short stories. Currently working on my degree in English with a plan to enroll into Film School with the dream of becoming a screenwriter and director.
