San Diego Comic-Con 2022: Day 3

The line for Hall H of San Diego Comic-Con went around the giant convention center and then some more. Attendees had been waiting since the day before to get in the biggest event of nerddom of the year. They did not wait in vain.

It was going to be a long day ahead and Zachary Levi got the crowd going with his humor and, of course, big announcements. Shazam Fury of the Gods will be coming out in December with not one but three super-villains: Hellen Mirren, Rachel Zegler, and the fan-favorite Lucy Liu who came on stage with a powerful magical staff. Following right after was Black Adam’s lightning show with Dwayne Johnson and the rest of the cast of the movie.

The master of nightmares, Neil Gaiman himself, was on stage presenting the upcoming Netflix series Sandman based on his fantasy graphic novels of the same name. The show will be released on August 5th.

Speaking of great authors, George R. R. Martin came on stage right after to present with the producers, directors, and actors the new HBO show House of the Dragon. The series will follow various members of the house Targaryan in a show that will focus on the days of splendor and glory of their kingdom. Fans can expect much action, blood, fire, death, and dragons, lots of dragons.

Sir Patrick Stewart, one of the most beloved actors of all times, came on stage to present Season three of the Star Trek spin-off series, Picard. The new season will see the return of the original cast of Star Trek Enterprise from the 90s and dig deep into Picard’s childhood trauma.

Marvel presented their slate of new movies and shows in a panel that can only be described as a Mega panel. Expectations were high and the Feige show did not disappoint when the president of Marvel Studios brought out the big guns. Phases 4, 5, and 6 have perfectly been planned out for the next three years with an abundance of TV shows and movies. Marvel’s Mega panel dumped a massive amount of information that will be told in detail here.

After a long three-year break that for many fans felt like an eternity, fans came back to the holy place of nerddom to come together and celebrate their favorite shows, comics, movies, mangas, merchandise, novels, and much more. A haven for people who connect through their love for fantasy. With or without masks we will definitely be back for Comic-Con 2023.
