Ryan Reynolds and Michael Bay Join Forces for ‘Six Underground’

Ryan Reynolds and Michael Bay are going to be streaming all over your faces next year. No wait, that sounded bad. Ryan Reynolds and Michael Bay are officially going to tag-team your eye-holes in 2019. No wait, that was worse. Ryan Reynolds and Michael Bay are making a movie (and possibly sweet, sweet love) together. Phew, that’s much better.

Reynolds (Deadpool 2, R.I. P.D.) and Bay (Bad Boys, Transformers, 13 Hours) are teaming up with Netflix to bring us Six Underground, movie that makes me think of a song by the Sneaker Pimps, but is actually the story of six eccentric billionaires who fake their deaths in order to join together and fight criminals. The Hollywood Reporter claims that Deadpool 2 writers Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese are working on the script. Bay will direct and produce, and Reynolds will stand around and look pretty.

The movie will also be produced by Skydance Media’s David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Don Granger. Skydance already works with Netflix on streaming hits Grace and Frankie and Altered Carbon.

Production on Six Underground is slated to begin this summer, and the movie should be ready to roll out sometime next year. By then, Netflix should have almost 200 million subscribers, many of whom will never forgive Michael Bay for the Transformers series, no matter how many gratuitous Ryan Reynolds shirtless and/or pantless scenes he may provide as restitution.

I enjoy watching movies and TV shows, playing video games, singing badly to pop songs in the car, eating delicious food, and drinking fine alcoholic beverages. I play basketball when my crippling knee and back pain allows, and I try to hit the gym on a regular basis. I have a son and a sugar glider, and when I'm not combing the internet for breaking news I am likely traveling or riding my Razor scooter.
