Ryan Gosling’s directorial debut Lost River, finally seems to be catching some sort of a break. After a disastrous run at the Cannes Film Festival and Warner Bros.’ attempts to get it picked up by indie distributors, the studio has now decided to give it a limited run this coming April in Los Angeles and New York. Prior to this announcement, Variety reported Warner Bros.’ plans to release the film exclusively on VOD. This will still occur, however, alongside the limited theatrical engagements. Gosling’s story follows the lives of a single mother (Christina Hendricks, Drive) and her two children as they struggle to stay afloat in the fictional and crumbling town of Lost River. Ben Mendelsohn (The Place Beyond the Pines), Matt Smith (TV’s Dr. Who), Saoirse Ronan (Hanna), and Eva Mendes (Hitch) also star.
