‘Run All Night’ Release Date Shifted

Today Warner Bros. gave the word that Run All Night will now hit multiplexes on April 17th, 2015. The latest Liam Neeson action movie lost its February 6th release after the studio pushed their space opera Jupiter Ascending to that date in the wake of delaying its planned summer of 2014 release. Though this may come as a disappointment to Neeson’s fans, it will distance the movie from the star’s other action movie, Taken 3, set to hit theaters in January next year.

The plot of Run All Night has Neeson as an aging hit-man who’s forced to outwit his former boss (Ed Harris) before he kills his estranged son (Joel Kinnaman). Also staring is Vincent D’Onofrio (Escape Plan), along with Beau Knapp (Super 8), and Holt McCallanay (Gangster Squad). The movie will be produced by Roy Lee (The Lego Movie) and Brooklyn Weaver (The Number 23). The script is by Brad Ingelsby (Out of the Furnace) and in the director’s chair is Jaume Collet-Serra, who previously worked with Neeson on Unknown and Nonstop.

This marks yet another action movie for Liam Neeson, and while that may not be a shock, it is surprising that the actor – who is in his 60s – has made such a name for himself as a huge box-office action star. That movies like Taken and Unknown were such huge hits says a lot about the actor, who received an Academy Award nomination for his role in Schindler’s List.

Run All Night will face a lot of competition on its date of April 17th, as also set to hit theaters that day are Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2, Child 44, Selfless, and Disney’s Monkey Kingdom.
