Rory Culkin Desperately Searches for a Lost Love in the Chilling ‘Gabriel’ Trailer

The last time audiences saw Rory Culkin on the big screen was in the 2012 indie Electrick Children, and more notably as a murderous co-conspirator (spoiler alert!) in 2011’s Scream 4Gabriel marks Culkin’s recent return to film in a role which seems to challenge and highlight the actor in a way we have yet to see.

Gabriel follows the eponymous young man as he goes on an obsessive search for Alice – his first love – which damages his well-being as well as his family life.

The dramatic thriller was written and directed by Lou Howe in his first feature film. After being awarded the Annenberg Feature Film Grant from the Sundance Institute, the film premiered at last year’s Tribeca Film Festival and went on to appear throughout much of the festival circuit. The film also features David Call (TV’s Smash) and Culkin’s Twelve co-star Emily Meade (TV’s The Leftovers) in the role of Alice.

Oscilloscope Laboratories will release Gabriel in theaters on June 19. Check out the trailer below, courtesy of Indiewire, which features a tense and attention-grabbing performance from Culkin.
