Will Ferrell made an public appearance in character as news anchor Ron Burgundy (wearing – what else – a burgundy colored suit) to co-commentate the Tim Hortons Roar of the Rings tournament, essentially the Canadian Olympic Trials for curling. Bringing “a certain amount of dignity and class” to the proceedings, Ferrell/Burgundy proceeded to work alongside main commentator Vic Rauter on Canadian cable channel TSN’s coverage of the event.
As might be expected, Ferrell did his best to make everyone mildly uncomfortable to generally humorous effect. Check out TSN’s highlights of Ferrell’s appearance in the video below:
Ferrell’s Burgundy hits the big screen in just a few weeks, as his long-awaited Anchorman sequel takes on American Hustle and Her (in limited release) when they all premier Wednesday, December 18th, kicking off the ultra-busy Christmas release week.
