Rock Band Releases Trailer for ‘The Killer Robots! Crash and Burn!’

Question: Who are The Killer Robots!? Answer: An independent rock band with a style similar to other nerd-rock groups like The Aquabats and Darkest of the Hillside Thickets, though more robot-centric and punk influenced. Question: If this is a movie website, why are we talking about a rock band? Answer: They have a movie coming out.

The movie, titled The Killer Robots! Crash and Burn is made by and starring the band members Sam Gaffin, Samuel Williams, Mike McGowen, and Charles Harris. The film appears to be exactly the kind of action packed B-movie you’d expect from the title. The teaser  trailer makes it look like a 90’s child’s toy box come to life, with fighting robots (as you would expect), tubes sticking out the backs of necks, and a bow and laser arrows. According to the band’s website, the film “[involves] hundreds of puppets, models, and costumes.” The filmmakers “should have a rough cut of the movie by November.”

Crash and Burn is actually The Killer Robots’ second feature-length film. The first, titled The Killer Robots and the Battle for the Cosmic Potato was released on DVD in 2011.

You can find out more about The Killer Robots! and their various projects on their official site.
