Robert Pattinson Joins Cast of ‘Childhood Of A Leader’

Twilight series star Robert Pattinson has joined Juliette Binoche (Chocolat, The English Patient) and Tim Roth (Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction) in writer-director Brady Corbet’s feature debut Childhood Of A Leader.  Robert Pattinson and Juliette Binoche also co-starred in Cosmopolis.

Brady Corbet’s 2009 short film Protect You and Me won an Honorable Mention at Sundance. Corbet is also an actor, most recently seen in the indie hit Simon Killer, and upcoming in both Noah Baumbaugh’s While We’re Young and Andre Stefano’s Paradise Lost. Filming will start in Europe next May for  Childhood Of A Leader. The drama was co-written by Mona Fastvold, (whose directorial debut Sleepwalker will debut at Sundance in January). Not much of the storyline is known other than it will focus on (somewhat predictably) the childhood of a post-World War 1 leader.

Juliette Binoche’s current film A Thousand Times Goodnight, from Global Screen has sold to over 30 territories and rights for distribution have just been acquired by Arrow Film who will take it into the UK and Ireland. The film is helmed by Erik Poppe (Troubled Water) and tells the story of a war photographer (Binoche) struggling to balance a career and a family. It was awarded a Special Prize Grand Prix at the World Film Festival in Montreal.
