Japanese-British pop singer Rina Sawayama is set to star alongside Keanu Reeves in Lionsgate’s John Wick: Chapter 4. This will be Sawayama’s feature film debut. Her role is currently under wraps. The film is directed by Chad Stahelski from a script by Shay Hatten and Michael Finch.
Basil Iwanyk, Erica Lee, and Stahelski are producing, with Reeves and Louise Rosner as the executive producers. John Wick: Chapter 4 will begin production this summer shooting on location in France, Germany and Japan, according to Deadline.
Director Stahelski said, “I’m so glad to have Rina on board to make her feature film debut in John Wick: Chapter 4. She’s an incredible talent who’ll bring so much to the film”.
Sawayama was born in Japan and raised in North London. She graduated from Cambridge University where she studied politics, psychology and sociology, funded her early music through proceeds from modeling, and then signed a record deal. She is known for her singles XS, Comme des Garçons, and Chosen Family, the latter in which is a duet with Elton John. She will headline her first world tour later this year.
