The release date for David Ayer’s World War II drama Fury has been moved up to October 17th from its previous date of November 14th. Though no official explanation has been given yet, presumably the move is being made in oder to allow the film time to build up momentum over the fall awards season, which seems to get longer every year. Rather than opening a week before the next Hunger Games movie in November, Fury will now open against tearjerker The Best of Me, the animated film Book of Life, and Dracula origin story Dracula Untold. Fury stars Brad Pitt as a hardened tank commander who leads his soldiers into the heart of Nazi Germany in the final months of the war. Shia LaBeouf (Lawless), Logan Lerman (Noah), Scott Eastwood (Trouble With the Curve), and Jon Bernthal (TV’s The Walking Dead) also star.
