Reese Witherspoon Ventures ‘Home Again’ – Check Out the Official Teaser Trailer

Oscar winner Reese Witherspoon returns to the big-screen later this year with the new romantic comedy Home Again, of which the first official teaser trailer – as well as a few new images – have become available. Written and directed by Hallie Meyers-Shyer, the film follows a recently separated mother named Alice who moves back to her hometown of Los Angeles. Meyers-Shyer makes her directorial debut here but comes from an established pedigree – she is the daughter of Nancy Meyers, the director of such hits as Something’s Gotta GiveWhat Women Want and The Intern.

The synopsis reads, “Home Again stars Reese Witherspoon as Alice Kinney in a modern romantic comedy. Recently separated from her husband, (Michael Sheen), Alice decides to start over by moving back to her hometown of Los Angeles with her two young daughters. During a night out on her 40th birthday, Alice meets three aspiring filmmakers who happen to be in need of a place to live. Alice agrees to let the guys stay in her guest house temporarily, but the arrangement ends up unfolding in unexpected ways. Alice’s unlikely new family and new romance comes to a crashing halt when her ex-husband shows up, suitcase in hand. Home Again is a story of love, friendship, and the families we create.  And one very big life lesson: Starting over is not for beginners.

Michael Sheen (Masters of Sex), Candice Bergen (Sweet Home Alabama), Lake Bell (In a World…), P.J. Byrne (The Wolf of Wall Street), Nat Wolff (Paper Towns) and Reid Scott (Veep) co-star.

The film arrives as Witherspoon as experienced a swing in successes in recent years. She recently received her second Oscar nomination for leading the art-house hit Wild, lent her voice to last year’s animated blockbuster Sing and most recently headlined the buzzy HBO limited series Big Little Lies, for which Witherspoon received some of her strongest reviews to date. In the pipeline, Witherspoon will appear in Ava DuVernay’s much-anticipated adaptation of A Wrinkle in Time for Disney and is set to star in the romantic fantasy Wish List. She is also slated to star in Disney’s live-action Tinker Bell.

Home Again hits theaters on September 8th.
